For SWAIT AIR BOAT SB Chevy 350 C.I.D. Engines, Perform the Following;
Requires 8 Spark Plugs Copper NGK UR4 or Equivalent with Rating Gap .030
When adjusting the spark plug gap, do not pry the outer electrode against the center electrode. Using any other Spark Plug types may cause engine damage or loss of performance.
Turn off your engine, wait for engine to cool, disconnect metal battery cable if entering the propeller cage area. Note the order of the spark plug cables before disconnecting. If you are not sure, tape and number each first. Unfasten the connector by pulling straight up. Pulling on the cables may break the carbon conductor inside. Unscrew the old spark plugs with a spark plug wrench (NOT INCLUDED) and remove them. CAUTION: The boots of the spark plug may be hot, so be careful!!! Do not allow dirt or anything else to fall inside the spark plug holes.
Check the gap on the new spark plugs by passing the feeler gauge (NOT INCLUDED) between the electrodes on the spark plug. If the gap is correct, you will feel a slight drag. If necessary, bend the outer electrode to obtain the right clearance. Screw in the plugs by hand as far as they will go. If necessary you may use a spark plug wrench for an extension. If a plug does not screw in easy, remove it and try again to ensure the threads on the spark plug with the threads in the hole, in order to prevent the threads from stripping.
Tighten the plugs with a spark plug wrench, but do not over tighten. Make sure spark plug cables are installed in the correct order. The connector fastens on by pushing it squarely over the spark plug end.
