Important - the package may contain installation instruction sheets that are specific to this application. Those instructions are supplied for your guidance in making a satisfactory installation. FOR BEST RESULTS, FOLLOW FEL-PROS PROCEDURES OF GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS & TIPS
1. CLEAN MATING SURFACES OF ALL FOREIGN MATERIAL including old gaskets, RTV and oil. use a degreaser. 2. CHECK OIL PAN FLANGES FOR FLATNESS. Straighten stamped metal pans. Replace severely distorted pans. 3. FOR ENGINES WHICH USE END SEALS. Place the side rail gasket on the block and measure the gap provided for the end seals to be compressed more or less to 15-30%, leakage and/or failure may result. Replace or repair the pan required. 4. APPLY A QUICK-DRYING ADHESIVE to the engine block surfaces in small spaced dabs. If the RTV Black, is used, instead of a quick drying adhesive, do not apply excessive amounts or full torque until the adhesive had cured. Failure to do so will extrude the gasket and cause leakage. 5. PLACE GASKET (S) AND END SEALS (IF USED) IN POSITION, checking fit and alignment. Allow time for adhesive to set. Test for slippage with light pressure. If gasket moves, allow more time. 6. APPLY A 1/8" BEAD OF RTV (not included) between any side rail and end seal intersections. 7. INSTALL OIL PAN TO CRANKCASE. Install fasteners and torque to OEM specifications. CAUTION: Avoid overtorquing; distortion of pan may cause leakage.
GASKETS CANNOT BE RETURNED ONCE SEALS ARE BROKEN OR PACKAGE IS OPENED.
