Florida Boating Regulations: All vessels, with the exemption of non-motor-powered vessels less than 16 feet in length, must be registered through your local tax collector's office. Letters must be seperated from the numbers by a hyphen or space equal to letter width, which the U.S. Coast Guard has determined that any letters except for "1" or "I" may be used as an equal guidline space.  Vessels must be registered and numbered within 30 days of purchase or building homemade. Registration numbers must be displayed on the forward half of the vessel on both sides of the waterline. The numbers must be bold block at least 3" high in a color contrasting to the hull "background color". OUR RECCOMENDATION: Air boat registration numbers and letters should also be displayed on both visible sides of the rudders, especially in areas with tall grass.
